The butterfly story

The butterflies (hair clips) were the first products in my Etsy shop. They are made of Vogue magazine pages which I collect whenever I travel. My boyfriend bought me issues from China or Turkey, I also buy the magazine every time I am in Italy because that edition is simply the best. The butterflies are handcut without template, so each piece is one-of-the-kind. They are laminated for durability and then cut again. Finally I stitch on the beads and fix it to the hair clip. I have made and sold approximately 60 since I started making them back in 2010. They continue to be the best sellers at markets and fairs as they make affordable little pressies for kids and adults alike...
