Pure Joy of Colour (Creative Meditation)
Yesterday was the first Creative Meditation in my new Studio.
"PURE JOY OF COLOUR"
We used the rather unassuming medium of wax pastels on sandpaper. This simple technique offers an array of haptical sensations as the smooth waxy crayons rub against the abrasive surface of the sandpaper. The strong, bright colour palette intrinsically leads to the creation of repeat patterns, that liberate the mind. The stress of inventing the subject matter is therefore minimised and the enjoyment of the colour takes over, allowing the creator to immerse herself/himself in the activity and forget about daily stress. In addition, the heat transfer (printing) offers the highly enjoyable "AHA moment", as the printed image - transformed through the melting process - emerges. This is usually welcome with spontaneous expressions of surprise and joy.
If you are interested in taking part in this or similar activity or have any questions, please comment bellow this post. I look forward to hearing from you.
